'Nadaaniyan' Controversy: Jugal Hansraj Slams Trolls for Personal Attacks!
NEWS RATING
Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan appeared together on screen in the romantic comedy Nadaaniyan, which was made available online earlier this month. Both of the main actors faced severe social media backlash for their roles in the movie after its premiere. Jugal Hansraj, who portrayed Ibrahim's father on television, responded by denouncing the insults directed at the young performers.

Regarding the internet mocking of Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan, Jugal Hansraj said in an interview with a daily, "Criticism should be constructive. If somebody who knows about cinema or has some experience in the field has a show or an article where they write about what worked and what didn't, that's something one can learn from."

He criticized social media for "personal attacks" and called them "silly and petty." Even if he doesn't like a movie, the actor said, he doesn't label it "bad" and thinks it just didn't work for him. He expressed his belief by pointing out that some people think they know everything.

The Nadaaniyan actor used a parallel between the present and the past to better elucidate his message. Since there was no social media in the 1980s, he said, many performers who began their careers were given the time and space to develop.

"There was equal awkwardness in all of us when we started off, but because of the lack of social media, there wasn't this unfair scrutiny," he further revealed.

The actor from Mohabbatein emphasized that the "intense spotlight" puts a great deal of strain on rookies. According to him, everyone can be a critic on social media, regardless of whether they have experience on a movie set.

Finally, he vehemently denounced the character of personal attacks, especially those that target appearances.

"Personal attacks are not cool. If you have something constructive to say, please say it. That kind of feedback helps actors learn and improve. But personal attacks about appearance get murky and messy. I'm obviously not in favor of that kind of criticism," he told.

In the Netflix movie Nadaaniyan, Jugal Hansraj portrayed Ibrahim Ali Khan's father, Dr. Sanjay Mehta.
