NEWS RATING
Madgaon Express marked the directorial debut of Kunal Kemmu. This week, on March 22, the movie debuted in theatres to overwhelmingly positive reviews from both reviewers and viewers. In the main roles of the movie are Avinash Tiwari, Pratik Gandhi, Divyendu, and Nora Fatehi. Kunal Kemmu discussed his wife Soha Ali Khan's response to the movie in a recent interview. Although his wife can be very supportive, he revealed that she is sometimes the hardest critic, giving him her own special "slap."

During a recent media chat, Kunal Kemmu shared his memories of his wife Soha Ali Khan's response to his directorial debut, Madgaon Express. The film centres on three friends who visit Goa for the first time. Speaking about her reaction, Kunal disclosed that Soha gave some favourable input after viewing a few clips.

As much as he believes in his wife, he says he understands that she might be extremely direct with her. He sometimes thinks, though, that she could be kind to him only to come out as "encouraging." According to him, she took such action to find out if he was confident in his film or not.

Furthermore, Kunal disclosed that throughout his premiere, Soha's remarks provided him with a great deal of motivation and restored his belief in his movie. “She knew that I was carrying a big burden, and I was both excited and nervous about it. But I believe in myself too and, so, I know that what she feels isn’t completely wrong. Madgaon Express was in the right space. I was proud and happy with what I had made,” told Kunal.

When asked if the Rang De Basanti actress could be critical of his performances and works as well, Kunal replied that she reviews them with coherence. He told, “She chooses the right words, and she voices her thoughts in the right way. Woh bhigaake thappad nahi maarti (She wouldn’t hit me hard). She makes me sit down, calms me down, and then lovingly tells me if and when I go wrong. That’s her way of slapping me (laughs).”
