Krrish 4: Hrithik Roshan Takes the Director's Chair!

The highly awaited next installment of India's most recognizable superhero franchise, Krrish 4, will be directed by Hrithik Roshan. The fact that renowned filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films (YRF) will co-produce the movie adds to the excitement and represents a historic partnership between two of Bollywood's most significant production giants. By fusing Hrithik's creative vision with his star power, this seismic change promises to take Krrish 4 to previously unheard-of heights.

 

Krrish, Indian cinema's most anticipated superhero franchise, is returning. Sources close to the project claim that Aditya Chopra and Rakesh Roshan will produce Krrish 4, which is expected to begin production in early 2026. But that's not all. Hrithik Roshan, one of India's greatest and most renowned superstars, will be directing the movie for the first time. “Hrithik will don the role of actor and director for Krrish 4 - The biggest superhero franchise of Indian Cinema, that kicked off with Koi Mil Gaya in 2003, followed by Krrish and Krrish 3. The script is locked, and pre-production work is going on in full swing as the aim is to take the film on floors in early 2026,” disclosed a media source.

 

In media chat, Rakesh Roshan says, “I am passing the baton of the director of Krrish 4 to my son, Hrithik Roshan, who has lived, breathed and dreamt about this franchise since its inception with me. Hrithik has a clear and a very ambitious vision of taking Krrish’s journey forward with the audience for the next decades. I couldn’t be more prouder to see him wear the director’s hat for a film that means the world to us as a family. Krrish has entertained audiences the world over and Hrithik will now reveal the next chapters of this superhero saga and take the vision I created so many years ago to greater heights.”

 

Aditya Chopra is taking over as producer of Krrish 4, which makes Rakesh Roshan very happy. “It brings me so much joy to see someone like Adi as the producer of Krrish 4. It was he who convinced Hrithik to sit in the director’s chair. Adi and Yash Raj Films have the knowledge, understanding and technological might to produce this film and add great value to this project.”

 

He further reveals, “Hrithik and Adi coming together as a producer-director pair with me behind them is a rare and deliciously creative combination. I am sure they will turn Krrish 4 into a theatrical experience that has never been made in India. The dream is to make India proud globally with a larger-than-life experience like Krrish 4.”

 

In Krrish 4, Hrithik Roshan, who has enthralled audiences as the masked superhero Krrish since 2006, will play both the title role and direct for the first time. A pioneer in Indian cinema, the Krrish franchise started with Koi Mil Gaya in 2003 and developed into a superhero tale with Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013). With Hrithik leading the charge, Krrish 4 is set to revolutionize the genre by fusing emotive storytelling with avant-garde visuals, which are hallmarks of the Roshan family's filmmaking heritage.

 

Krrish 4 will begin production in early 2026 after a protracted pre-production period that has already begun and lasted over a year.
