Garv's Unexpected Turn: The Sunny Deol Link That Changed Salman Khan's Career!

Salman Khan played a police officer in Puneet Issar's 2004 film Garv: Pride and Honour long before he became famous for wearing aviators, dancing to popular songs, and donning a police outfit in Dabangg. Puneet revealed in a recent interview that Salman was first apprehensive about the movie, dismissing it as being more in line with Sunny Deol's aesthetic.

Puneet Issar revealed in a podcast that he and Salman Khan had been friends and coworkers for a long time. He remembered that when he told Salman Khan that he was writing a script, Salman thanked him for sharing the Garv story.

 

He did, however, wonder why Puneet had approached him with the idea because he believed it was more in line with Sunny Deol's action-packed roles, which Salman wasn't renowned for playing at the time.

 

Puneet Issar expressed his resolve to persuade Salman Khan to abandon his well-established persona as a "lover boy." He clarified that although Salman was already a well-known celebrity, Puneet thought it was time for a change. Salman was best known for his romantic and humorous parts in movies like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Biwi No.1, and Judwaa.

He remembered telling the Sikandar actor that a change was required, and the actor consented to play the part when he related to the Garv screenplay.
