A Kapoor Encounter: Zeenat Aman's Honest Reflection on a Co-Star!

Through her Instagram profile, Zeenat Aman has been taking fans on a nostalgic trip and frequently shares behind-the-scenes glimpses of her classic movies. The Bollywood diva recently shared a humorous story about the one time she collaborated with the late actor Rishi Kapoor, in which he was made to look taller than she was for a photo shoot.

The only time Zeenat and Rishi Kapoor appeared together on screen was in Nasir Hussain's 1977 film Hum Kisise Kum Naheen. Even though they were both well-known in the field at the time, they hardly ever worked together. Zeenat spoke about the special experience of working with Rishi, whom she lovingly referred to as "Chintu ji," and provided a video clip from the movie that included a humorous moment and a musical number.

“Of all the men I worked with from the Kapoor khandan, Rishi and I interacted the least both socially and professionally,” she revealed in her note. “In fact, in all the years that our careers overlapped, we only featured together in this one song. My role involved just this one Qawwali number (the only one of my career) and a romantic scene with Chintu ji.”

The actress jokingly disclosed that their disparity in height caused issues on the set. Zeenat, who is tall herself, acknowledged that some of her co-stars found it difficult to get used to her height because it was often considered unattractive for a leading lady to be taller than her male counterpart. In the sequence she filmed with Rishi, that worry was most apparent.

“So there we were, Chintu ji and I flirting for the camera on a russet leather couch,” she remembered. “But for some reason, our seated positions made our height difference more strikingly apparent. Much to Chintu ji’s chagrin, Nasir Saab propped him up on first one and then two cushions to make him appear taller than me!”

Zeenat Aman also described how, following the success of their previous project, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, director Nasir Hussain had regarded her as his lucky charm. Without understanding it would result in such a remarkable filming experience, she had accepted his request to make a special appearance in Hum Kisise Kum Naheen.
