Back in Action: Director Praises Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx's 'Effortless' Chemistry!

In their most recent action-comedy on Netflix, Back in Action, which was directed by Seth Gordon, Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx have rekindled their on-screen connection. The two have previously worked together in Annie (2014) and Any Given Sunday (1999).

Gordon exclaimed that the dynamic between Foxx and Diaz was absolutely amazing. According to reports, their bonding encouraged the filmmakers to include more poignant and humorous scenes in the script. That "holy moment" of invention is how he described it.

 

The filmmaker, 48, told to a daily, "They took turns in a really deep way supporting each other. Anyone who was on set will tell you [Foxx] was the biggest cheerleader and hype man for [Diaz], and really for everybody involved, but especially for her. So she got to return the favor in that way spiritually."

 

"[Diaz and Foxx were] totally finishing each other's sentences and seeing their chemistry and that energy together was really inspiring," Gordon further added.

 

Although it started out as an action movie, Gordon managed to mix the excitement with more humorous and character-driven sequences because of the actors' easy chemistry.
