Hera Pheri 3: All the Details on the 2026 Scripting and Priyadarshan's Take

Since its debut in 2000, the Hera Pheri franchise has become a cult favorite in Indian cinema because of its endearing characters, clever dialogue, and timeless humor. There is a lot of excitement for the upcoming film because Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal starred in the first two. The start of Hera Pheri 3's scripting in 2026 has now been confirmed by Priyadarshan. It's going to be "challenging," he continued.

Recently, in a media interview, Priyadarshan said, "I plan to start work, start writing Hera Pheri 3 sometime next year. It is going to be very challenging to make the third part because there will be too many expectations."

 

He underlined that it is very easy to make viewers cry or feel afraid, but it is much harder to create relevant, genuine humor without using double entendre. In addition, he pointed out that comedy changes with time and that it's important to adjust to changing society preferences. The story must make sure that the cherished characters' journey is still realistic because they have grown older.

 

Priyadarshan added that even while some of the movie's scenarios are over the top, viewers should still get the impression that "this could happen." But only when he begins writing will he become clear. "Once I put the pen to paper only then I would know. I have to really fight out the challenge and make a good script," he revealed.

 

Priyadarshan talked about his close relationship with Akshay Kumar and how some partnerships just happen. He mentioned that Akshay is the actor he has collaborated with the most, except from Mohanlal, with whom he has collaborated on more than 40 films.

 

The actor hardly ever questions the plot after he reveals the main idea, the director revealed, underscoring Akshay's strong faith in him. Using only his vision, Akshay just shows up on set, does his job, and walks off. Priyadarshan acknowledged, nonetheless, that this trust also increases his accountability because he feels under pressure to perform.
